Holocaust Memorial Day

There has been much suffering of people across the globe, but nothing can compare to the scale of the suffering of the Jewish community at the hands of the Nazi's. Though time and time again we pray and hope to never see anything of that magnitude again there has been more.. Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia, Darfur, and the modern day atrocities that are taking place right now, like the suffering of the Muslim minorities in Burma, and those in the Central African Republic, to name just a couple.

The problem has always been that the signs glare us in the face; increase of hate crime which I believe is fuelled by the media machine which constantly spews its propaganda. We know it has a history of creating deep divisions which then lead to bigger and much more sinister crimes against humanity. I am fearful as we see the same rhetoric today. Hate is rife, crimes against humanity are ever increasing and people have died as result.

Let us not be bystanders, let us speak up against injustice and oppression. Our lives depend on it.
